New Brasilian Compilation on Soul Jazz Records
August 28th, 2007 Posted by Dougal

Essential listening for all fans of Os Mutantes and co. courtesy of Soul Jazz Records, “Brazil 70 - After Tropicalia: New Directions In Brazilian Music” is the follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed “Tropicalia: A Revolution in Sound” compilation which featured several classic cuts from TrocaBrahma 2007 alumni Os Mutantes as well as other Tropicalia treats from the likes of Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa and Tom Ze. This new collection (available 31st August) takes up where the previous volume left off and follows the Tropicalia artists as they entered a new phase mixing rock, funk, samba and soul alongside a wealth of like-minded new artists such as Novos Baianos, Raul Seixas, Nelson Angelo and Joyce. Check the Soul Jazz Records site for more details.
If you enjoyed this year’s TrocaBrahma gigs do not miss this!
