Brasilintime : Batucada Com Discos

Not content with bringing together some of the worlds most respected classic funk drummers and foremost hip hop turntablists for the original “Keepintime” project, B+ (aka Brian Cross) is back with the DVD release of “Brasilintime : Batucada Com Discos”.

As we had the opportunity to for TrocaBrahma earlier this year, Cross travelled to Sao Paulo in 2002 to explore the connections between hip hop and the classical Brasilian musical styles of samba and bossa nova. His partners on this journey included Keepintime DJ alumni Madlib, J-Rocc, Cut Chemist and Babu as well as funk drumming powerhouses Paul Humphrey, James Gadson and Derf Reklaw - who once in Brasil got down to some live collaboration with legends of Brasilian percussion Ivan “Mamao” Conti, Joao “Commanche” Parahyba and Wilson Das Neves.
