He’s recorded with CSS and M.I.A; he’s toured with Roots Manuva and Bonde do Role; he’s remixed the likes of Gwen Stefani and DJ Shadow. He is the one and only Diplo: a
dinosaur-fetishist and erstwhile shrimp fisherman whose ardent aural blueprint merges heady reggae, grizzly hip-hop, urban electronica and psychedelic vagary. His debut album, Florida (Big Dada), revealed these myriad sonic amulets and more.

Diplo – aka Tupelo’s Wes Pentz – is also overlord of the Mad Decent imprint (Bonde do Role, DJ Blaqstar), while his critically acclaimed, hard to find and party-starting mix CDs include Favela On Blast (Rio Baile Funk 04), Favela Strikes Back, and M.I.A. v Diplo’s underground masterwork, the swaggering Piracy Funds Terrorism.
