BONDE DO ROLE

KALEIDOSCOPIC GHETTO-POP CHAOS FROM BONDE DO ROLE MEET UPPERCUTS (RADIOCLIT, AMANDA) HOSTED BY DIPLO:

The ace latest signings to cult record label Domino, (home to Franz Ferdinand and the Arctic Monkeys amongst others), Brasilian genre-benders Bonde do Role are an electro-rock, baile funk, arch-pop troika.
Their propensity for sampling swaggering hooks from Tone Loc, AC/DC, Whitney Houston and Grease is galvanised by a day-glo line in bubblegum jazz-mag rhyming couplets, and incandescent comedy brat-rap.
Their avid live pyromania, meanwhile, is bagging them plaudits the world over; and they’ve shared stages with Junior Boys, The Gossip and Sao Paulo psych-rock behemoths Os Mutantes.
Hailing from Curitiba in southern Brasil, the rampant triad have previously unleashed their chromatic babble-rock on hip-hop conjugator (and M.I.A. collaborator) Diplo’s Mad Decent label, and their much-anticipated Domino debut – Bonde do Role with Lasers – is due for release in June.
